Flora Fauna

Introduction
Here we have shared information about Ranthambore flora and fauna. While visiting Ranthambore national park, we will first notice barren hills which is beyond our imagination as presence of wild animals in such barren land is not possible. Once we enter into the park area, we will find park terrains between meadows and dry deciduous forest. Here density of jungle is less as it is close to Thar desert, thus receives very less rainfall. Ranthambore tiger reserve is like an secluded ecological island, comprising northern tropical dry deciduous forest spread over the conjunction of two hills systems i.e. Aravali hills in north-east and Vindhya hills in south. Aravali hill is extended to Delhi and comparatively more rocky and dry where as Vindhya hills passes majority of areas of Madhya Pradesh state. Famous tiger reserves like Bandhavgarh and Panna national park are located in same Vindhyachal hills. Ranthambore falls under the Bio-geographic arid and semi arid in Bio-geographic province 4B Gujarat-Rajwara. Geographically the terrain comprises pre-cambrian meta-morphic, Igneous and Sedimentary rocks. The Tiger Reserve comprises of shallow perennial lakes, Anicuts, Bundh, Steep hills, Gentle slopes, plateaus, deep Gorges etc.
