Practical Advice
Trails in the park become extremely dusty. Bring a dust mask or scarf, especially if you ride in an open Canter. Layered clothing is essential between November and February, as early morning safaris are very cold, but it warms up significantly by midday. Read more in our Packing for Ranthambore guide.
Single-use plastic bottles are banned inside the park, so pack a reusable water bottle. Flash photography is also strictly prohibited as it disturbs the wildlife. Maintain silence and do not stand up in your vehicle.

Planning questions
How many days are enough for Ranthambore?
Two days is usually sufficient. This allows you to book three or four safari shifts across different zones, significantly increasing your chances of spotting a tiger.
What is the nearest railway station to Ranthambore?
Sawai Madhopur Railway Station is the closest transit hub. It is located just 10 kilometers from the park and connects directly to Jaipur.
Can kids go on a Ranthambore tiger safari?
Yes, children are allowed. However, the safaris last 3.5 hours on bumpy, dusty roads with strict rules against loud noises. A 6-seater Gypsy is usually more comfortable for families than a large Canter.
